Register to Participate in Western Dakota Tech’s Outdoor Cleanup Day March 27

The community is invited to join Western Dakota Tech (WDT) employees and students in the college's Outdoor Cleanup Day, from 9 a.m. to noon, on Saturday, March 27.

Volunteers will spruce up campus by picking up blown-in trash, cleaning the natural drainage area behind the main building, pruning bushes, and preparing areas for flower planting.

WDT Partners with Wall Meats to Start Meat Processing Program

Western Dakota Technical (WDT) College is excited to announce a new partnership with Wall Meats that is sure to benefit many in this region.

WDT and Wall Meats are working together to implement a Meat Processing instructional program at the college. The collaboration was approved by the WDT Board of Trustees during its February meeting. The goal is, once the program is developed and receives all necessary approvals, to begin courses in 2022.

Western Dakota Tech Surgical Technology Instructor Krista Hagemann has been selected to receive the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST) Rising Star Constellation Award. This national award recognizes hard-working surgical technology educators who are in their first five years of teaching.

WDT Fall 2020 Dean's List Announced

Western Dakota Tech congratulates the 222 students named to the Fall 2020 Dean's List. To qualify, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a minimum of 12 credit hours in a given semester.

Students are listed by state beginning with South Dakota, then city, last name alphabetically, and program.

Black Hills Tire Owners/WDT Alumni Sponsor Scholarship in Honor of Jim Schnaible

Black Hills Tire owners Weston and Tenise Chapman, Western Dakota Tech graduates and 2020 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients, are sponsoring a Western Dakota Tech scholarship in the honor of the late Jim Schnaible.

Jim was an instructor for the Automotive Program at Western Dakota Technical College for 31 years before retiring in 2004. He unexpectedly passed on Dec. 5, 2020.
