Western Dakota Technical College requires new students to complete tests during the Admissions process. What test students take depends on the program they are entering.

Information about the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)
The TEAS is a computerized test and is a proven diagnostic instrument that assists in evaluating academic, test taking, and social skills of new applicants to the Practical Nursing and Surgical Technology programs. Based upon the profile generated with this test, these programs can more objectively screen applicants for admissions. It also assists Western Dakota Technical College in providing information that will help the instructors meet your individual needs as a student while attending the program. There is a testing fee to take the TEAS.
TEAS Prep with Express Library Instructions
The TEAS contains 4 sections, administered in this order:
- Reading – 58 minutes
- Mathematics – 51 minutes
- Science – 66 minutes
- English and Language Usage – 34 minutes
Your testing results will print out immediately and an Admissions Representative will review your results with you.
