Bill of Rights Exhibit on Display through Feb. 28

Western Dakota Tech’s Library is featuring a new pop-up exhibition from the National Archives, “The Bill of Rights and You,” commemorating the 225th anniversary of the ratification of the landmark document. Western Dakota Tech is located at 800 Mickelson Dr.

“The Bill of Rights and You” spotlights one of the most remarkable periods in American history, explores the origins of the first 10 amendments to the U.S. Constitution (collectively known as the Bill of Rights), illustrates how each amendment protects U.S. citizens, and looks at how Americans exercise the rights outlined in the amendments. “The Bill of Rights and You” invites visitors to connect directly with the people, places, and events that mark this historic document’s evolution.

Register Now for New Basic Machining Class - Metal Lathe

Western Dakota Tech’s Corporate Education Center is offering a new Basic Machining Class – Metal Lathe. The class will take place Thursday nights, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Jan. 12- Feb. 23.

This seven-session introductory course, taught by Bill Urban, will provide technical theory and hands-on training covering the use of the metal lathe to produce machined parts.

Howe is Surgical Technology Textbook Contributing Author

Tiffany Howe, CST, CSFA, FAST, MBA, Western Dakota Tech Team Leader/Surgical Technology Program Director, is a contributing author to the fifth edition of the college textbook, “Surgical Technology for the Surgical Technologist, A Positive Care Approach.”

Howe contributed to three chapters - Otorhinolaryngology Surgery, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, and Peripheral Vascular Surgery. The book is the primary textbook used in surgical technology education and it is authored/published by the Association of Surgical Technologists. Western Dakota Tech will begin utilizing the new textbook Fall Semester 2017.

Twenty-four Western Dakota Tech Students Receive Practical Nursing Pins

As the need for nurses in the workforce continues to increase, graduates of Western Dakota Tech are well on their way to helping fill the important positions. Twenty-four Western Dakota Tech students are receiving pins this month for the completion of the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Program.

Receiving pins is a traditional symbolic welcoming of Nursing graduates into the Nursing field.
