Native American Graduates Honored During Eagle Feather Ceremony
Western Dakota Tech recently hosted an Eagle Feather Ceremony to honor the college's Native American graduates. Eighteen students received blessed eagle feathers during the ceremony, which took place in the college's new Event Center.
Practical Nursing Graduates Honored During Pinning Ceremony
Forty-six Practical Nursing Graduates were honored during a Pinning Ceremony, in Western Dakota Tech's new Event Center, May 12. These graduates will help fill an important need in the workforce for entry-level nurses in the healthcare environment.
The Pinning Ceremony is a traditional symbolic welcoming of Nursing Graduates into the Nursing field. Students chose who they wanted to pin them. A thank-you written by the student was aloud as they were being pinned.

Comments Welcome Prior to Accreditation Visit
Western Dakota Tech is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). First accredited in 1983, Western Dakota Tech's next accreditation visit is September 18 to September 20, 2017. A team of peer reviewers from colleges around the country will assemble on the Western Dakota Tech campus during that time. Before their visit to campus, the public is invited to provide confidential comments to the peer reviewers.

RAPID CITY, SD - Western Dakota Tech Outstanding Graduates and a South Dakota SkillsUSA winner were honored during a Student Awards Banquet, in the college's new Event Center, May 5. The awards banquet recognizes exceptional students in a variety of capacities.
