Western Dakota Tech Selected National Community College Award Finalist

In its ongoing quest for excellence, Western Dakota Tech (WDT) is honored to announce it was selected as a finalist for a national award recognizing best practices in community colleges.

In this, WDT’s first time applying for a coveted Bellwether Award, the college was named one of 10 national finalists in the category of Planning, Governance and Finance for its submission, “Using Data-Driven Decisions to Grow Enrollment.” The Planning, Governance and Finance category of the Bellwether Awards recognizes programs or activities that improve efficiency and effectiveness in the community college.

FREE Business & Technology Camp Offered for High School Students on Feb. 25

Explore Careers in Business & Technology, Social Media Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, & Bookkeeping 

High school students interested in exploring rapidly advancing and diverse careers in Business and Technology, should register today to attend Western Dakota Tech's next career exploration camp. 


The college is hosting a FREE Business and Technology Camp, in its Event Center, Tuesday, Feb. 25. Sign-in will start at 8:30 a.m. with the first session beginning at 9 a.m. The Camp, which includes an etiquette luncheon in a "formal" dining setting, will conclude at 1 p.m.

WDT Announces 224 Students Named to Fall 2019 Dean's List

Western Dakota Tech congratulates the 224 students named to the Fall 2019 Dean's List. To qualify, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

The Dean's List begins with South Dakota students followed by additional states.

Free Financial Aid Assistance Event at Western Dakota Tech Set for Feb. 20

If you need money to attend college, you will want to attend Western Dakota Tech's (WDT) Free Financial Aid Assistance Event, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 20. (Enter main college entrance.)

WDT college representatives will be available to provide financial aid guidance, help you complete the Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) regardless of where you plan to go to college. They will also assist with scholarship applications.

Plumbing Students Contribute Skills, Labor for Love INC's New Building Project

Western Dakota Tech Plumbing Technology program students, under the guidance of Program Director Walter Cline, are contributing their skills and labor on the Love INC of the Black Hills new building construction project. The new Love INC building is located at 414 E. Omaha St.  

Cline’s students have been working on the drain waste and vent system on a couple of bathrooms. Some of the work has been challenging, as they have had to work on lifts 15 ft. above ground to attach hangers for vents to steel bar joists.
