Permanent Endowment Will Support Students in Skilled Trades Programs for Generations

Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) is excited to announce the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of South Dakota has generously endowed $25,000 to establish the Dr. Ken Gifford Memorial Scholarship in partnership with Black Hills Area Community Foundation (BHACF). This endowment will provide lasting financial support for WDTC students pursuing careers in skilled trades.

Dr. Steve Willard Appointed Acting President of Western Dakota Technical College

The Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) Board of Trustees has named Steve Willard, Ed.D., Acting President, effective Monday, Feb. 24.

Dr. Willard, who has served as Chair of the WDTC Board of Trustees since Fall Semester 2024 and has been a board member since 2020, brings extensive experience to the interim role. Previously, he served as Superintendent of Schools for the Belle Fourche School District and has worked as a Principal and Career and Technical Education educator.

Students Named to Fall 2024 Dean's List Announced

Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) congratulates the 186 students on the Fall Semester 2024 Dean's List. To qualify, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher for a minimum of 12 credits per semester.

The Dean's List begins with South Dakota students and their hometowns followed by additional states and students.
