Nurses Recognized During Pinning Ceremony Dec. 14

Twenty-four Western Dakota Tech Practical Nursing students were honored for completing the program during a Pinning Ceremony, in the college's Event Center, Dec. 14. These graduates will help fill an important need in the workforce for entry-level nurses in the health care environment.

RAPID CITY – A program at Western Dakota Tech pairs up students in the criminal justice program with longtime Rapid City law enforcement officers for mentorship and learning.

Akicita is the Lakota word for warrior.

The Rapid City Police Department and Western Dakota Tech held an Open House celebration for the Criminal Justice and Criminal Justice Law Enforcement students who are part of the Akicita Mentorship Program at the school’s Event Center. This collaborative program between WDT and both the police department and sheriff’s office is focused on bringing Native American students into law enforcement through training and mentoring.

Western Dakota Tech is offering a new way for parents and their Junior and Senior students to find out more about what the college has to offer. For the first time, Western Dakota Tech is hosting a Junior/Senior Visit Day on Friday, Nov. 30.
