The Western Dakota Board of Trustees, in partnership with executive search firm Hazard, Young, and Attea (HYA), has initiated this national search with a strong focus on community input. A stakeholder survey launched earlier this month provides the campus community and external partners an opportunity to share their perspectives on the qualities and qualifications desired in WDTC's next leader.
The search process includes multiple focus group sessions with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and community partners. These discussions, combined with survey responses, will help develop a comprehensive leadership profile for the position.
Key timeline milestones include active recruitment through March 31, followed by candidate review and selection in April. A public announcement is planned for May, ensuring the new President is prepared to assume their role by July 1, 2025.
"This inclusive approach to our presidential search reflects our commitment to finding a leader who will embrace our institution's values and guide us into the future," said Dr. Willard, Chair of the Western Dakota Technical College Board of Trustees.
