Western Dakota Technical College Employees Present, Lead Discussion at National Jenzabar Conference

Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) is honored to have three employees selected to provide or lead informational presentations at the national Jenzabar JAM, taking place this week in Nashville, Tenn.

Jenzabar is a leading technology innovator in higher education that offers software solutions and services that empower student success. WDTC is a Jenzabar client.

JAM is Jenzabar’s Annual Meeting – the annual gathering for all Jenzabar clients. During the four days of the conference, more than 1,000 attendees will participate in hundreds of sessions and networking opportunities.

  • Andrew Kapelewski, photo center, WDTC Assistant Director of Scholarships, is speaking about “Scholarship Integration: Microcosm of Multi-Department Collaboration Effectiveness”, today, June 1. In this presentation, Kapelewski will talk about how WDTC has streamlined the administration of its Scholarship Program by consulting with a previous JAM presenter, engaging with other campus departments, and utilizing multiple areas of Jenzabar. In just its first implementation cycle, WDTC’s move to Jenzabar/JICS software has resulted in several improvements, including a 78 percent increase in scholarship applicants and a 146 percent increase in scholarship applications.
  • Donna Hanks, photo left, WDTC Instructional Technology and Design Specialist, is presenting “Using Jenzabar eLearning Beyond the Classroom Description”, on June 2. In this session, participants will learn how the Jenzabar eLearning module can be used beyond the classroom. Hanks will provide examples of how Jenzabar eLearning can be used for professional development training, communication, compliance training, and instructional resources.
  • Debbie Toms, photo right, WDTC Vice President for Data Strategy and Enrollment Management, is co-leading the “Registration Module Community Discussion” with Carol Grode-Hanks, of Mitchell Technical College, on June 3. This will be an open forum for peers to discuss hot topics in Registration such as: “What challenges are you facing?”; “What new initiatives are making an impact?”. Participants will share their experiences in this informal, collaborative exchange.
