Not only has Western Dakota Tech been named a Great College to Work For, it has also made the esteemed Honor Roll – both for the second consecutive year. Western Dakota Tech is one of four total, 2-year institutions in the small colleges category to be named to the Honor Roll.
The results, released today, Sept. 16, in a special insert of The Chronicle of Higher Education, are based on a survey of 236 colleges and universities. In all, 85 of the 236 institutions achieved “Great College to Work For” recognition for specific best practices and policies.
Results are reported for small, medium, and large institutions, with Western Dakota Tech included among the small colleges with 500 to 2,999 students.
Western Dakota Tech received recognition in five categories this year:
- Collaborative Governance
- Teaching Environment (Faculty Only)
- Confidence in Senior Leadership
- Supervisor/Department Chair Relationship
- Respect and Appreciation
Great College to Work For survey results are based on a two-part assessment process: an institutional questionnaire that captured employment data and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey administered to faculty, administrators, and professional support staff. The primary factor in deciding whether an institution received recognition was the employee feedback.
The Great Colleges to Work For is one of the largest and most respected workplace-recognition programs in the country. For more information and to view all the results of the survey, visit the Great College Program website at www.greatcollegesprogram.com.
ModernThink, a strategic human capital consulting firm, administered the survey and analyzed the results.
