Few Spots Remain for Popular Camp
One of Western Dakota Tech’s most popular free career exploration camps for high school students focuses entirely on diverse construction-related careers.
Construction Awareness Day Camp, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11, is designed to introduce students to in-demand careers related to Construction Technology, Computer-Aided Design, Electrical Trades, HVAC & Refrigeration Technology, and Plumbing Technology.
The Associated General Contractors (AGC) hosts the event in conjunction with Western Dakota Tech.
This fun camp will feature several construction-related station activities. Early registration is encouraged as this camp fills quickly. Register today at wdt.edu/camps.
“There is a great need for construction workers in South Dakota as development is booming and skilled trades people retire,” said Wanda Roe, Western Dakota Tech Admissions and Event Specialist. “Construction Awareness Day Camp provides a great way for high school students to find out about all the different types of jobs available in the construction industry and to try some of them out to see if it is a career they might enjoy.”
