The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA), administers this accreditation program. CALEA requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas: policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.
As part of the assessment, WDTC employees and members of the community are invited to offer comments by calling CALEA at (916) 960-6933 on Tues., Aug. 9, 2022, between the hours of 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Telephone comments for the public information session are limited to 10 minutes and must address the agency's ability to comply with CALEA's standards.
Copies of the standards are available for public inspection at Western Dakota Technical College, 800 Mickelson Dr., Rapid City SD 57703.
Anyone wishing to submit written comments about the Training Academy’s ability to comply with the standards for accreditation may send them to the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement, Inc.
