Rapid City Mayor Steve Allender is 55th Commencement Speaker
Western Dakota Technical College is hosting several celebrations this week to honor about 435 graduates - one of the largest classes in college history. Events include the college's 55th Commencement Ceremony, a Native American Honoring Ceremony, a Law Enforcement Pinning Ceremony, and a Nurse Pinning Ceremony. This year's Commencement Address will be provided by Rapid City Mayor Steve Allender.
Events this week are as follows:
Friday, May 12
- Native American Honoring Ceremony - 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Western Dakota Technical College Event Center, 800 Mickelson Dr.
- Law Enforcement Pinning Ceremony - 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m., Rapid City Central High School Theatre, 433 Mt. Rushmore Rd.
- Commencement Ceremony - 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., The Monument Ice Arena, 444 Mt. Rushmore Rd. The Commencement Speaker is Rapid City Mayor Steve Allender.
- Nurse Pinning Ceremony - 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. - Rapid City Central High School Theatre, 433 Mt. Rushmore Rd.

About Western Dakota Technical College
Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) was established in 1968 and is the only technical college serving the western South Dakota region.
WDTC offers programs in a variety of fields, including Business and Computers, Construction and Manufacturing, Energy and Environmental Technologies, Health Sciences, Legal and Public Services, and Transportation Technologies.
