CANCELLED - Construction Career Camp

UPDATE: The Rapid City Construction Career Camp scheduled for Friday, April 3, has been cancelled.

It is our goal to assist with CDC/S.D. Department of Health efforts to reduce community spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). In addition, the Rapid City Area Schools has cancelled all field trips scheduled for March 16-April 13. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause.

Info issued prior to event cancellation:

One of Western Dakota Tech’s (WDT) most popular FREE career exploration camps for high school juniors and seniors focuses entirely on diverse construction-related careers.

The Rapid City Construction Career Camp at WDT, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Friday, April 3, is designed to introduce students to in-demand careers related to Construction Technology, Computer-Aided Design, Electrical Trades, HVAC & Refrigeration Technology, and Plumbing Technology. Register today at wdt.edu/camps.

The Associated General Contractors (AGC) hosts the event in conjunction with Western Dakota Tech. It is sponsored by the Black Hills Home Builders Association.

This fun camp will feature several construction-related station activities and lunch with industry speakers. Early registration is encouraged as this camp fills up quickly.

“There is a great need for construction workers in South Dakota as development is booming and skilled trades people retire,” said Wand Roe, Western Dakota Tech Admissions and Event Specialist. “Construction Career Camp provides a great way for high school students to find out about all the different types of jobs available in the construction industry and to try some of them out to see if it is a career they might enjoy.”

For more information about Construction Career Camp, call Wanda Roe at (605) 718-2963 or email her at Wanda.Roe@wdt.edu.
