Attend Rapid City Earth Day Expo at WDTC April 22

Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) is hosting the free-to-attend Rapid City Earth Day Expo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, April 22. WDTC is located at 800 Mickelson Dr.

Activities will include: an education and vendor expo, discount tree sale, environmental film screenings, activities and crafts for children and adults, an electric and hybrid car show, a grand opening and tours of the new WDTC geothermal greenhouse, speakers and workshops, EchoWorks recycled electronics collection, sharps collection, and more. During the EchoWorks once-a-year free recycling event, small items can be dropped off at the EchoWorks booth in the WDTC front entrance. Large items can be dropped off at the WDTC west entrance (take the college entrance off of HWY 44, closest to Knecht Lumber).

Additional Rapid City Earth Day Expo hosts include the City of Rapid City Sustainability, Dakota Rural Action, DVV International, and Urban X-Change Network funded by Federal Foreign Office.

About Western Dakota Technical College

Western Dakota Technical College (WDTC) was established in 1968 and is the only technical college serving the western South Dakota region. 

WDTC offers programs in a variety of fields, including Business and Computers, Construction and Manufacturing, Energy and Environmental Technologies, Health Sciences, Legal and Public Services, and Transportation Technologies. 

Ninety-nine percent of Western Dakota Tech's most recent graduates are working, continuing their education, or are enlisted in the military, per the WDTC 2021 Placement Report. There were 326 respondents out of 380 graduates surveyed.
