Additional Events Include Native American Honoring, Law Enforcement Pinning, & Nurse Pinning Ceremonies
Western Dakota Technical College is hosting several celebrations this week to honor its more than 370 graduates. Events include the college's 54th Commencement Ceremony, a Native American Honoring Ceremony, a Law Enforcement Pinning Ceremony, and a Nurse Pinning Ceremony.
This year's Commencement Address will be provided by U.S. Rep. Dusty Johnson, (R-SD).
Events this week are as follows:
Friday, May 13
- Native American Honoring Ceremony - 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Western Dakota Technical College Event Center, 800 Mickelson Dr.
Saturday, May 14
- Law Enforcement Pinning Ceremony - 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Rapid City Central High School Theatre, 433 Mt. Rushmore Rd.
- Commencement Ceremony - 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., The Monument Ice Arena, 444 Mt. Rushmore Rd. The Commencement Speaker is U.S. Rep. Dusty Johnson, (R-SD). The Distinguished Service Award will be presented to Gloria Pluimer, Director of Education & Workforce Development, Black Hills Special Services Cooperative. Dani Hersrud, Western Dakota Technical College Surgical Technology Instructor, will receive the Distinguished Alumni Award.
- Nurse Pinning Ceremony - noon to 1 p.m. - Rapid City Central High School Theatre, 433 Mt. Rushmore Rd.
