English Proficiency Requirements

All international applicants must provide evidence of English proficiency, with the exception of applicants from countries where English is the native language (see list).  Applicants who have a prior degree from a college or university in the US may be exempt, based on English courses taken and grades received in those courses.

WDTC has determined minimum scores for admission for TOEFL ( http://www.ets.org/toefl), IELTS ( http://www.ielts.org) and Pearson Tests of English – Academic ( http://www.pearsonpte.com).  We recognize a variety of valid English proficiency tests, which will be evaluated on an individual basis.  Results should be sent to the  Admissions office.

*Minimum scores require English proficiency testing upon arrival at WDTC.

**Upper level scores indicate that no additional proficiency testing is required by WDTC.  However, additional testing and instruction may be required based on a student’s performance on other placement exams, in the classroom, or by the academic department.
